Sep 22, 2017: The inaugural function of Diamond Jubilee celebrations of St Philomena College here was held on September 21 at the college quadrangle.
Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment and district in charge B Ramanatha Rai released the Diamond Jubilee Logo. "Today, education has become the right of every citizen. However, in India less than 20 percent of the population can afford to have its benefits. Good education always plays an important role in determining social justice."
Vicar General of the City's Diocese and Vice President of CBE Monsignor Denis Moral Prabhu V G blessed the Diamond Jubilee celebration by lighting the lamp. He then delivered the presidential address.
Alumnus and former Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University and Hampi Kannada University Prof B A Viveka Rai delivered the felicitation address.

Secretary of CBE Fr Gerald D’Souza released the textbook on Financial Accounting authored by Prof Maxim Carl, HoD of Commerce.
The opposition chief whip, Legislative Council, Government of Karnataka Capt Ganesh Karnik launched the ‘Diamond Jubilee Project’.
